New work, new space!

What happens when change becomes visible and tangible – and at a temporary workspace no less? Read on to find out.

“A workspace like this hardly deserves the label ‘temporary’. But we will certainly implement many elements that will also be appreciated and put to good use in the new headquarters. I’m already looking forward to it”, said Jürg Pauli, Chief Transformation Officer, with a grin.

New forms of collaboration

The new Swing Space at the headquarters in Bern is an impressive sight: colourful, modern and designed to promote collaboration across all teams, allowing transformation to be experienced directly.

That’s why the Swing Space is not just a workspace, but a symbol of collaboration at Galenica. Galenica’s culture of collaboration is characterised by trust, innovation and a strong network philosophy. That’s why the Swing Space was designed to reflect this culture: with open-plan workspaces, large and small meeting areas and lots of opportunities for interaction as well as workspaces that are designed to be quiet and undisturbed – individual and unique. As Jürg Pauli notes: “I’ve heard several stories about suddenly meeting colleagues you’ve never seen before. This puts a smile on my face and it’s great for all of our talented people to work together.”

Embracing sustainability

But the Swing Space has another priority: a lot of existing material was used and ideally integrated for the conversion of the Swing Space. And the materials that had to be purchased will be used again in three years’ time at the renovated headquarters. Or as Jürg Pauli puts it: “sustainability in action.”

Isabelle de Iorio, who is in charge of the U8 conversion project and, by extension, the Swing Space conversion, is also satisfied: “I was delighted to implement such a multifaceted project. The combination of a modern, forward-looking working culture, combined with sustainability requirements, have created a unique working environment.”

But what do the customers themselves – i.e. Galenica employees – actually have to say about the new Swing Space? We captured this in this video:

Would you like to experience the Swing Space and join us as a new employee? We are always looking for talented people for a wide range of jobs.
